September 2024 DLT New UPDATE (Latest News): CTA Whitelisting
The CTA whitelisting process involves whitelisting ‘Call To Action’ attributes such as URL, OTT link, APK, and callback number.
Identifier-based scrubbing for URL/OTT link/APK will be implemented on 1st October. Additionally, variable tagging along with URL whitelisting has been active since 4th August 2024 for New Template Registration.
What is CTA Whitelisting?
TRAI has established a new guideline to whitelist all the URLs, OTT links, APK, and callback numbers that are included as part of the Variable (Content Template) in the actual SMS.
It’s important to note that contact details of ECOM delivery, field staff, and relationship managers will be pre-tagged as numbers, and CTA whitelisting is not required for these contacts.
Furthermore, if a URL, OTT link, or APK is sent through a variable in an SMS that is not part of the whitelisted database of PE, then the SMS will fail as part of the scrubbing process.
