Why Fast2SMS

A business phone system that lives in your browser

No EPABX box, no technician, no wiring. Numbers, menus, agents and reports are all set up from one panel.

One business number, in and out

Customers call one virtual number and reach the right person. Your team calls out from the same number, so customers always see your business, never an agent's personal mobile.

  • Incoming and outgoing calls on one number
  • Pick the caller ID for every outgoing call
  • Buy and renew number plans from the panel

IVR you build yourself

Drag blocks onto a canvas: play a welcome, ask callers to press a key, collect digits, check office hours, call your system with a webhook and ring a group. Save, and the number uses the new flow straight away.

  • Menu, Number input, Playback, Webhook
  • Time conditions with holidays
  • Ring group and Call end blocks

No hardware, no desk phones

Agents answer and dial from the Click2Call web phone in their browser. Live calls, call logs, recordings and analytics are in the same panel, so there is nothing to install at the office.

  • Web phone with keypad, hold and mute
  • Live call monitor for managers
  • Recording and logs for every call

PBX vs SIP trunk vs cloud PBX

Which business phone system do you need?

A traditional PBX is a box in your office, a SIP trunk is only the line into a PBX, and a cloud PBX is the whole phone system online. Fast2SMS cloud telephony is a cloud PBX.

KYC, calling rules and your data

Business numbers in India follow TRAI and DoT rules. Here is what that means for you.

Business KYC

A virtual number is activated after basic business verification, such as company details, PAN or GST and an address proof. Our team guides you through it.

Needed once per account

Outgoing calls

Use your number for genuine business calls. Promotional calls must not go to DND numbers; for bulk campaigns use Bulk Voice Call, which skips DND for you.

Bulk Voice Call

Recordings and logs

Call logs and recordings stay in your account, visible to you and the team members you add. Block unwanted callers with the blacklist.

Data security

Your data is encrypted and stays yours

Your customers' numbers and messages are business data. We treat them that way: encrypted on the wire and in the database, visible only to the people you allow, on infrastructure that is audited every year.

How it works

Your business number live in three steps

  1. 1

    Create your free account

Sign up with your mobile number and open the panel. Complete your business details; operator rules ask for basic KYC before a number goes live.

  2. 2

Pick a number and a plan

In Numbers, choose an available number and a monthly plan, paid from your wallet. Add a line label and turn on recording if you want it.

  3. 3

Build the IVR and add agents

Create call groups with your agents, set office hours, and drag the blocks of your IVR flow. Point the number to the flow and take your first call.

FAQ

Cloud telephony, virtual numbers and IVR: questions answered

What is cloud telephony?

Cloud telephony is a business phone system that runs on the internet instead of a box of hardware in your office. Calls to and from your business number are handled by the provider's platform, and you manage numbers, IVR menus, agents, recordings and reports from a web panel. Your team can answer from a browser or their phones, wherever they are.

How does cloud telephony work?

A caller dials your virtual number. The call reaches the cloud platform, which plays your IVR, checks office hours and rings the right agent or group according to the routing you chose. The agent answers in the web phone. The call is logged, recorded if recording is on, and shown in analytics. Outgoing calls work the other way round, with your virtual number shown as the caller ID.

What is the difference between cloud telephony and a traditional EPABX?

An EPABX is hardware installed in one office, with phone lines and desk phones wired to it. Changes need a technician. Cloud telephony needs no hardware: numbers, menus and agents are set up in a web panel, agents can work from any location with a browser, and every call is logged and recorded automatically.

Is cloud telephony available in India from Fast2SMS?

Yes. Fast2SMS Cloud Telephony gives Indian businesses virtual numbers with incoming and outgoing calls, a drag-and-drop IVR flow builder, call groups, a browser web phone, live call monitoring, call recording, office hours, webhooks and analytics in one panel, next to SMS, WhatsApp, RCS and Voice calls.

What is a virtual number?

A virtual number is a business phone number that is not tied to one SIM or one desk phone. Calls to it are answered by the cloud platform and passed to your team according to your IVR and routing rules. You can also make outgoing calls that show the virtual number, so customers see one consistent business number.

Can I make outgoing calls from my virtual number?

Yes. Agents place outgoing calls from the Click2Call web phone and choose which of your numbers is shown as the caller ID (CLI). The customer sees your business number, never the agent's personal mobile.

How do I get a virtual number?

Open Numbers (Caller IDs) in the panel, choose an available phone number, pick a subscription plan and pay from your wallet. Add a line label such as "Sales helpline", set where inbound calls go and the number is ready to use once your account KYC is complete.

How much does cloud telephony cost?

Numbers are billed as monthly plans, chosen in the Numbers page of the panel, where the current plans, durations and prices are shown before you pay. Call charges depend on usage. There is no setup fee and no hardware cost. For many numbers or high call volumes, talk to our sales team for a custom rate.

Is there a setup fee or hardware cost?

No. There is no setup fee and nothing to install. You need a computer with a browser and a headset or microphone for the web phone. Everything else runs on our platform.

Can I pay for a longer period at once?

Yes. Number plans come in different durations, and longer plans usually work out cheaper per month. The panel shows each plan's price, the monthly equivalent and the validity in days before you choose.

What is an IVR?

IVR stands for Interactive Voice Response. It is the recorded menu a caller hears, such as "Press 1 for sales, press 2 for support". Based on the key pressed, the system sends the call to the right team, plays information or collects details, without a receptionist.

How do I create an IVR with Fast2SMS?

Open IVR Flow, create a flow and drag blocks from the library onto the canvas: Menu for key presses, Number input to collect digits, Playback to play audio, Webhook to call your system, Time conditions for office hours, Ring group to reach agents and Call end. Connect the outputs, save, and assign the flow to your number.

Which blocks are available in the IVR flow builder?

Menu (one path per key the caller can press, plus a default), Number input (collect a set number of digits with a wait time and attempts), Playback (play an audio file or a voice template), Webhook (call your URL with headers and a JSON or form body), Time conditions (paths by day and time slot), Ring group (ring an agent, a team or a custom target) and Call end.

Can I change my IVR without calling support?

Yes. Edit the flow in the panel any time and save; the number uses the updated flow for the next call. You can also duplicate a flow to try a new version.

Can callers enter an order number or customer ID in the IVR?

Yes. The Number input block plays a prompt and collects digits from the caller, with the maximum number of digits, the wait time and the number of attempts you set. Follow it with a Webhook block to check the digits in your own system.

Can the IVR connect to my CRM or system?

Yes, through the Webhook block. It sends a GET or POST request to your URL during the call, with the headers and body you set, and follows the success or failure path depending on the result. You can paste a cURL command to fill it in. Call events can also be sent to your URL as they happen.

What is call routing?

Call routing decides which agent receives an incoming call. With Fast2SMS you create call groups and pick a distribution strategy: Ring-all, Round-robin, Linear or Least recent, with an optional Sticky agent rule and a ring timeout.

What is the difference between Ring-all and Round-robin?

Ring-all rings every agent in the group at once and the first to pick up gets the call; it is the fastest way to answer. Round-robin sends each new call to the next agent in turn, so calls are shared evenly across the team.

What is sticky agent routing?

Sticky agent routing sends a repeat caller to the agent they spoke to last time. Customers do not have to explain their issue again, and agents keep ownership of their own leads.

What happens if no agent answers?

Each call group has a ring timeout. When it runs out, the Ring group block follows its failure path, so you decide what happens next: try another group, play a message or end the call.

Can I set office hours and holidays?

Yes. Save schedules with opening and closing times and a timezone. In the IVR, the Time conditions block sends calls down a different path for each day and time slot, and you can mark holiday dates so callers hear a closed message on those days.

What is Click2Call?

Click2Call is the web phone in the Fast2SMS panel. Agents dial from the browser by typing or clicking a number, choose the caller ID, and talk through their computer's microphone and speaker or headset. Incoming calls ring in the same window.

Do agents need a desk phone or a SIM card?

No. The web phone runs in the browser. Agents need a computer, an internet connection and a headset or microphone. They can work from the office or from home.

Which features does the web phone have?

A keypad you can use with the mouse or keyboard, a choice of outbound caller ID, answer and decline for incoming calls, hold, mute, end call, an on-screen call bar during a call and a list of recent calls.

Which browser do I need for the web phone?

A current version of Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer works best. Allow microphone access when the browser asks, and use a headset for clear audio.

Can managers see live calls?

Yes. The Call Monitor shows active calls right now, active channels, agents registered on the web phone, allocated numbers and today's total calls. Each live call shows its direction, the caller, the status and when it started, and a manager can end a live call from there.

Are calls recorded?

You can turn on recording for a number to record its incoming and outgoing calls. Recordings are attached to the call in the logs, so you can play a call from its details.

Can I download call logs?

Yes. Call logs can be filtered and downloaded from the Download section, so you can keep your own records or analyse calls in a spreadsheet.

What details are shown for each call?

The call log lists each call with its direction, numbers, status and time. Open a call to see its details in a drawer, including the recording when recording is on.

Does Fast2SMS have call analytics?

Yes. The Analytics page shows your calls for today, the last 7 days, the last 30 days or all time, so you can see volumes and outcomes over time.

Can I block spam or unwanted callers?

Yes. Add numbers to the blacklist and calls from them are blocked, so your team only spends time on genuine callers.

Can I add team members?

Yes. Add team members in the panel so each person has their own login. Agents registered on the web phone appear in the Call Monitor.

Can I get call events on my webhook?

Yes. Set your webhook URL in the panel and call events are sent to it in real time, so your CRM or app can log calls, open a customer record or start a follow-up automatically.

Is there an API for cloud telephony?

Your account has an API key and API Excel in the Utility section of the panel, and the IVR Webhook block calls your own API during a call. For a specific integration, talk to our team and we will help you set it up.

Can I use cloud telephony as a call center software?

Yes. A small or mid-sized call centre needs exactly these parts: numbers, an IVR, call groups with routing, a web phone for agents, live monitoring for supervisors, recordings and reports. All of them are in the Fast2SMS panel without extra software.

Is a virtual number a good alternative to a toll-free number?

For many businesses, yes. A virtual number gives you one business number, an IVR, routing and recording, and customers pay their normal call rate. If you specifically need a toll-free 1800 number, talk to our sales team about availability.

Can I keep my existing business number?

Moving an existing number depends on the number type and the operator. Talk to our team with your number and we will tell you what is possible. You can also start with a new virtual number and run both side by side.

How many numbers can I have?

You can take as many numbers as you need, for example one per department, city or campaign, each with its own plan, label and inbound routing.

Can I track which ad or campaign brought a call?

Yes. Use a different virtual number on each ad, website or campaign. The call logs and analytics show which number was called, so you can see which channel brings the most calls.

Do I need documents or KYC for a virtual number?

Yes. Telecom rules in India require basic business verification before a business number is activated, such as company details, PAN or GST and an address proof. Our team guides you through it during onboarding.

Is cloud telephony legal in India?

Yes. Cloud telephony and virtual numbers are offered through licensed telecom operators and follow TRAI and DoT rules. Use the service for genuine business calls, complete KYC, and do not make promotional calls to numbers on the DND list.

Can I use cloud telephony for telemarketing calls?

Outgoing calls must follow TRAI rules for commercial communication: no promotional calls to DND numbers and a clear identification of your business. For bulk promotional or reminder calls to a list, use Bulk Voice Call (OBD), which handles DND for you.

What is the difference between Cloud Telephony and Bulk Voice Call?

Cloud Telephony is your business phone system: a number that customers call and agents answer, with IVR, routing and a web phone. Bulk Voice Call (OBD) plays a recorded message to thousands of numbers at once, with Key Press and Call Patch options, and you pay per 15-second pulse for answered calls only. Many businesses use both.

How long does it take to set up?

Choosing a number and building a simple IVR takes minutes in the panel. The number goes live once your business KYC is verified; our team helps you finish it quickly.

Can agents work from home?

Yes. Agents only need the web phone in a browser and an internet connection, so they can take and make calls from home with the same business number and the same call logs.

What internet speed do agents need?

A stable broadband or 4G connection is enough for voice calls. Stability matters more than speed: a wired connection or a strong Wi-Fi signal and a headset give the clearest audio.

Can I play a message while callers wait or after hours?

Yes. Use the Playback block to play an audio file or a saved voice template at any point in the flow, for example a welcome, the office hours, or a message before the call is connected.

Which audio formats can I use in the IVR?

Upload your prompts in Audio Files, as common audio files such as MP3 or WAV, and pick them in the IVR blocks. Short, clear prompts work best: say the options in the order callers need them.

Can the IVR be in Hindi or regional languages?

Yes. You record or upload the audio, so the IVR can be in Hindi, English, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali or any other language. You can even offer "Press 1 for Hindi, press 2 for English" as the first menu.

What are voice templates?

Templates are saved voice messages with a title, a type and the message text, which you can reuse in your flows, for example in a Playback block, instead of uploading a new audio file each time.

Is my call data secure?

Call logs, recordings and contact data stay in your account and are visible only to you and the team members you add. Access to the panel is protected by your login, and data moves over encrypted connections.

Can I use cloud telephony with WhatsApp and SMS?

Yes. Fast2SMS has SMS, WhatsApp Business API, RCS, Voice calls and Cloud Telephony in one account and one wallet, so you can follow up a call with an SMS or WhatsApp message from the same panel.

Who is cloud telephony good for?

Any business that takes or makes calls: sales teams, support desks, clinics and hospitals, schools and coaching centres, real estate, e-commerce and D2C brands, banks and NBFCs, travel agents and service businesses of every size.

Is it suitable for a small business or startup?

Yes. There is no hardware and no setup fee, you can start with one number and a few agents, and add numbers, groups and team members as you grow.

Can I try Fast2SMS before buying a number?

Yes. Create a free account and explore the panel. ₹50 free credit is added at signup to try our messaging and Voice call services. Book a meeting and we will show you the Cloud Telephony panel and help you pick the right plan.

How do I get support?

Chat with us inside the panel, call +91 6262778822, write to [email protected], or schedule a meeting. For IVR design or volume pricing, a meeting is the quickest way.

What is a cloud virtual number?

A cloud virtual number is a business phone number that is not tied to a SIM card or a desk phone. It lives on the cloud platform, so calls to it can be answered by an IVR and sent to any agent, on a browser web phone or a mobile, wherever they are. Fast2SMS virtual numbers work for incoming and outgoing calls and are managed from the panel.

What is the difference between a virtual number and a normal mobile number?

A mobile number rings one phone. A virtual number can ring a whole team: the IVR answers, the call goes to the right group, and if one agent is busy the next one gets it. Every call is logged and recorded, and you can change who answers without changing the number.

What is a cloud SIP trunk?

A SIP trunk is a phone line delivered over the internet instead of copper wires. It connects a PBX (phone system) you already own to the telephone network, so the PBX can make and take calls through the internet. You still run and maintain the PBX; the trunk only carries the calls.

Does Fast2SMS offer SIP trunking?

Fast2SMS cloud telephony is a complete cloud phone system: numbers, IVR, routing, web phone and recording run on our platform, so you do not need your own PBX or a SIP trunk to use it. If you already run a PBX and want to connect it over SIP, talk to our team and we will tell you what is possible for your set-up.

What is a cloud PBX?

A cloud PBX (also called a hosted PBX or virtual PBX) is a business phone system that runs online instead of in a box in your office. It gives you extensions, an IVR, call routing, transfers, recording and reports, and your team answers from a browser or a mobile. Fast2SMS cloud telephony works as a cloud PBX for your sales and support teams.

What is the difference between a PBX and a cloud PBX?

A traditional PBX (EPABX) is hardware installed in your office with phone lines and desk phones; changes need a technician and agents must be in the office. A cloud PBX runs online: there is no hardware, you change the IVR and routing yourself in the panel, and agents can work from anywhere.

What is the difference between a PBX and a SIP trunk?

A PBX is the phone system: it decides which extension rings, plays the menu and transfers calls. A SIP trunk is only the line that brings calls into that PBX over the internet. You need both a PBX and lines; with a cloud PBX like Fast2SMS, the phone system and the lines come together as one service.

Cloud PBX or SIP trunk: which one should I choose?

Choose a SIP trunk if you already own a PBX that works well and you only want cheaper internet-based lines. Choose a cloud PBX if you want to stop maintaining hardware, set up a sales or support line quickly, change the IVR yourself and let agents work from anywhere.

What is a call center solution?

A call center solution is the software a team uses to handle many customer calls: a business number, an IVR to sort callers, rules that send each call to a free agent, a way for agents to answer and dial, live monitoring for managers, and call recordings and reports. Fast2SMS cloud telephony gives you all of these from one panel.

Is Fast2SMS a good call center solution for a small team?

Yes. You can start with one number and two or three agents, with no hardware or long set-up, and add agents to a call group as the team grows. The same panel works for a 3-person sales desk and for a larger support team.

What is the difference between an inbound and an outbound call center?

An inbound call center mainly answers calls from customers, such as support helplines and order enquiries. An outbound call center mainly makes calls, such as sales follow-ups and reminders. Fast2SMS cloud telephony handles inbound calls with IVR and routing and outbound calls with the Click2Call web phone; for calling thousands of numbers at once, use Bulk Voice Call.

How does cloud telephony help a sales team?

Every lead call is answered by the IVR and sent to a free salesperson, shared evenly with round-robin or rung on everyone at once. Repeat callers reach the same salesperson, follow-ups are made from the browser with your business caller ID, and the call details can be sent to your CRM through a webhook.

How does cloud telephony help a support team?

Callers choose the right desk in the IVR or type an order number that your system looks up, so they reach the right person faster. After-hours callers hear an office-hours message, managers watch live calls, and recordings help with quality checks and training.

How do I get started with cloud telephony?

Create a free Fast2SMS account, complete your business details, choose a number and a plan in Numbers, add your agents to a call group, build your IVR flow and point the number to it. Our team can set it up with you on a call.
